The Pizza Spot That Sneaks Up on You (In the Best Way) Le Strittule is that kind of place you stumble upon, literally. It’s tucked away on a quirky little corner in a back alley, and the first time I found it, I felt like I’d just unlocked a secret level in a video game. The pizza? Really good. Nothing fancy or flashy, just honest, delicious pies made with the kind of love only a local nonna could inspire. And if you’re feeling adventurous, they’ve got all the traditional local classics on the side - yes, even horse stew for the brave souls out there. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, like sitting down at your neighbor’s kitchen table where everyone’s family and you know you’re going to leave full, happy, and maybe a little nostalgic. Now, I don’t even need a map. My feet just lead me straight back, no questions asked. If you want solid pizza and a welcoming, down-to-earth vibe without any fuss, Le Strittule is your place.

Having just arrived from Buffalo NY, my hosts walked me by this place on my first night in Tricase. I was struck by its stunning courtyard and vibe, and the food looked fantastic. I immediately returned solo the following evening and was warmly greeted by the crew behind the counter. They were friendly and kind, and patient with my poor Italian language skills (Sono qui in parte per migliorare nel parlare e comprendere l'italiano!). I ordered a pizza quattro stagione and a local Ichnuso unfiltered beer, sat in the courtyard and waited. What appeared was quite frankly the best pizza I have ever had. I’ve had pizza all over Italy and elsewhere (the world's perfect food?). I’m still thinking about it. So now what do I do? They’re closed on Wednesday and I’m stuck!😂 oh well I’ll be back tomorrow to sample all the other amazing things on their menu and sit in that awesome space once again, laughing at how good it is. Everyone in Tricase knows about Le Strittule for good reason and now you know. What are you waiting for? Mangiare!
